Texas Commission on Fire Protection Exams

The Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) exams are standardized certification tests used to assess the knowledge and skills required for various fire service roles in Texas. These exams cover a range of topics such as fire behavior, emergency response, fire suppression techniques, safety procedures, and applicable state regulations.
The Assessment Center at Laredo College Ft. McIntosh is a certified Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) Test Site.
General Information
- TCFP exams are administered by appointment only
- Exams are administered at the Ft. McIntosh Campus
- Examinees must have a non-expired Online Eligibility Form in order to take a TCFP exam
- All examinees must show a valid, government-issued photo ID (NOT EXPIRED) the day of the exam along with the Online Eligibility Form
Scheduling a TCFP Exam
Examinees interested in taking a TCFP exam at Laredo College must contact the Assessment Center at least 24 business hours in advance in order to schedule an appointment.

Exam Fees
A $20 proctoring fee is required for each exam appointment scheduled at our testing center. This fee is independent of, and in addition to, any applicable fees established by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP).
